Professional Credit Service and the city of Springfield recognize the difficulty that many citizens face in the current economy. The City, in conjunction with the Springfield Municipal Court and partner, Professional Credit Service, are proud to provide an economic relief program to assist citizens in paying off collection cases from 2007 and older.
Program Conditions
- Only 2007 cases and older that have been assigned to Professional Credit Service are eligible.
- One "lump sum" payment must be made in full before July 4, 2010.
- Professional Credit Service and the Court will waive any interest owed.
- A discount of 25% or 50% may be applied, depending on the age of the case. This discount applies only to the balance owed at the time of the settlement request and payment in full.
Program Intent
The goal of the Economic Relief Program is to provide individuals with an opportunity to gain a substantial discount in paying off old debt. This program also aims to provide a means towards reinstating driving privileges and the ability to drive legally, and assist in rectifying bad credit scores as a result of past-due fines and fees.
