- The Hawes Financial Group Corporate office in Springfield, Oregon was constructed with advanced computer based building and lighting controls for the purpose of minimizing energy consumption without sacrificing employee and customer comfort. By fully implementing these control systems, they have been able to reduce our monthly energy consumption by more than 50% since our initial occupancy.
- The building uses a computerized lighting system to control the lights in common work areas and reduce the lighting levels by 50% when appropriate.
- The building utilizes 115,500 square feet of roof space to host 600 high efficiency solar panels. The panels can produce up to 820 KWH per day.
- Photocells are also used to automatically reduce the light levels when the daylight through the windows is adequate.
- The landscape maintenance contractor must adhere to an approved integrated pest management plan that only uses environmentally safe herbicides and pesticides.
- Even though only environmentally friendly chemicals are allowed on site, all of them are stored in secondary containment containers as a further measure to protect the water supply from a possible spill contamination.
- Hawes Financial Group shreds and recycles all paper waste.
- In an effort to reduce fuel consumption, Hawes Financial Group also provides complimentary LTD bus passes to its employees.
