PCS Helps Better Our Community
We want to give a special thanks to a group of PCS employees who volunteered their time to help the Prosperity Center of Eugene. They helped volunteered to make phone calls to local businesses searching for unadvertised employment opportunities for Prosperity Center members.
What is the Prosperity Center?
The goal of the Prosperity Center is to help individuals achieve their goals. They start by asking members what their goals are. Then they help them create plans to make those goals become a reality. Whether members want to go to school, provide for their family, own a house, get a job or get a better job; this program will guide members to the resources it takes to increase earnings, reduce financial costs and generate financial stability for them and their family.
This is a free service offered in partnership with United Way of Lane County and other local organizations. As a Prosperity Center member individuals will receive the skills needed to move up in the labor market. Members will also get help to improve access to the financial mainstream where they can make the most of the money they do have.
Mark Brauer, the Prosperity Center Manager wanted to thank PCS for their time:
“…My initial response to the program is that you are great. Thanks so much. I have gone through the week’s material and it looks great to me. Open positions are well defined and most of the forms were easy to read. Contact information and requirements for application were the other concerns and they were addressed well by your people… This is an amazing help for the Prosperity Center. Please thank all the participants for their time. It was time well spent. I will communicate any additional feedback as I receive it… Once again, thank you very much. You have made a big difference in helping people to find employment.”
Mark has informed us that 7 individuals have already been hired due to the leads our volunteers found.
